I checked this website recently and it looks like the tutorials are gone. Minus the forum tutorials but that's just too messy and too much work to go through and figure out which are actual tutorials and which are people asking for help... too bad!

The problem you have with this picture is that if you want to make transparencies, you can't, in the same time, have a shadow, it doesn't look right.
You should just drop the shadow part and see it's much better for transparency of this kind.
